PROJECT Rod Willis | CLIENT OMERS | SERVICES Creative

OMERS serves as the steward and guardian for retirement income of more than half a million active, deferred and retired municipal employees across Ontario.

We were tasked to create a series of videos shot in various small towns across the province. It gave us the opportunity to meet unique people with interesting professions and better understand how their lives and well-being have been influenced for the better by OMERS.

Learning of his diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, we understand why Rod’s priority shifts to spending as much time with his dad and the rest of his family while he still has the mobility to do the things he’s wanted to do together. Thankfully, with his OMERS pension plan, he’s been able to retire early and focus on pursuing those dreams.

This project took us to Meaford, Ontario, where we met Rod Willis, the town’s parks and recreation manager; a family man and lifelong municipal employee who began working for the city at the local ice rink when he was 18. Our strategy was to capture how Rod’s passions influence the work he does for his town.
