Billboard Music Awards 2013
SenovvA provided LED and projection for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards
telecast live on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena
in Las Vegas. The production team included Frank McMinn
, Dave Taylor
, Eric Leverton, Andrew Taylor, Ian Haynes and Richard Larsen. The main presenter stage contained six 50″ to 85″ plasma monitors framing a rectangular 24′ high x 8′ wide WinVision 9mm LED wall behind the presenters and another 10′ high x 34′ wide WinVision 9mm curved LED wall flown above. A total of 17
performances were included in the show with many of them supported by the two large 16′ high x 38′ wide WinVision 9mm LED walls backing the two performance stages. A total of 102 panels of WinVision 18mm tiles were used as accent columns throughout the set with Revolution Blade 1260 LED lighting in the center stage presenter area and steps. Taylor Swift’s performance
started backstage from her dressing room and ended up using the entire set and included custom designed wagons edged in 74 WinVision 18mm tiles. Miguel’s unique performance made use of two scrims for layering, each using 2 Barco FLM HD20 projectors. Christina Aguilera and Pitbull performed with pulsating effects displayed on 100 tiles of Barco C-5 LED that framed their band on an elevated platform. SenovvA also installed two 20′ house screens powered by a single Barco FLM HD20 projector on each.
