Architectural Projection – San Jose Biennial

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

SenovvA provided projection support for the Rockwell Group’s installation for the San Jose Biennial, entitled Plug In Play. The highly unusual piece represented the activity in an average city, where visitors could interact with a 20 story projection surface by playing hopscotch, shouting into a megaphone, sitting on a bench, or plugging into an active USB port. The piece also included online interactivity, with input from various web sources like Twitter, Flickr and Rockwell’s installation at the San Jose Children’s Discovery Museum. Even the changing street light at the intersection and birds at a feeder caused the colorful launching of projected cubes that would scatter across the surface of the tower, gradually climbing to and over the top on a never ending conveyor belt. SenovvA provided eight 20,000 lumen projectors and technical support to seamlessly fill the 220′ tall vertical canvas.

Marquee Nightclub – The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

Marquee features a state of the art video projection and LED wall system unlike any other nightclub installation. Rather than a singular surface of video content, the various surfaces and materials containing video content, integrate the exclusive club design and themes.

The massive system is anchored by a 32′x29′ LED Wall rising behind the stage, on a multitier dance platform that includes a “video drawbridge.” The video wall is augmented by multiple zones of large format, 12k and 20k lumen projections surrounding the dance floor and club architecture. Layers of projection on fabric surfaces come to life as they surround the patrons and the stage. This multiple zone and layered video system is driven by multiple Modul8 and Hippotizer HD video servers, topped off by a custom one-of-a-kind custom VJFX system that integrates real time video cues and performance from both the onstage DJ, and a cadre of the best visual designers and VJ’s in the business. Custom film shoots, and live camera feeds of club patrons and dancers are integrated through the layers of projection and LED to bring entire “environments” to life.

Rather than a simple video playback system, it delivers everything form audio reactive architectural moods and themes, to a full-on “video performance instrument” with multiple themes and variation of specially designed content unseen anywhere in the nightclub world to date. The club is as much a performance venue for DJ’s as it is for the emerging VJ culture. The result is a highly charged, immersive and energetic multimedia experience far beyond the “automated lightshow” of other venues.

For special events, the video system can even be setup with custom corporate and group branding to add a signature to your event. The ability to customize content on-site for clientele and performers changing needs and events is a design future that makes Marquee a venue of choice for thematic events, as well as a dramatic high energy nightclub experience.

Desigual Retail Store Installation

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Desigual (Spanish): It’s not the same.

SenovvA definitely fits that statement. We are unlike any other production company in the industry.

It should come as no surprise that Desigual has chosen to partner with SenovvA not only for all its live event production needs, but for the retail installations in all of its US retail locations. SenovvA has been hired to provide installation services for all audio and video elements in each retail store in the US. This includes multi-speaker audio systems and the requisite hardware for audio playback and distribution, as well as a 6mm LED wall in every location. Keep an eye out for a store near you!

In this video clip, you’ll see SenovvA’s production of the Desigual Booth @ Spring Coterie in NY. The show took place at the Javits Center. SenovvA provided lighting, audio and a 8′H x 20′ W WinVision 1875 LED wall. SenovvA is also lined up to do Magic Fall 2010 and Coterie Fall 2010 with Desigual. Additionally we’ll be producing their first large scale runway show before years end…
