Monday, September 12th, 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 09/01/11

Production design and management group SenovvA provides technical direction and support to New York’s finest projection artists at DUMBO Arts Festival 2011.

NEW YORK CITY SEPTEMBER 23, 2011.
Production design and management guru SenovvA, lend their support and expertise to creating a unique set of projection driven multimedia environments designed by the “Immersive Surfaces” project, a collaborative group of artists, production designers and technical gurus led by the Leo Kuelbs Collection, Light Harvest Studio’s, Elysium Media and the NYC DOT.

This year’s DUMBO Arts Festival features an expanded projection environment installation encompassing the anchorages, tunnels and nearby buildings of the Manhattan Bridge. These installations create environments and visions, unique to the individual artists involved, as well as a creative and technical team put forward by “Immersive Surfaces” and SenovvA. These installations will reflect the latest in 3D mapping, video graphics and performance video server technologies.

SenovvA brings global expertise from the broadcast, theatrical, corporate, special events, content design and management fields, to this unique New York based visual experience. The collaboration between SenovvA and “Immersive Services” pushes New York forward on artistic and visual trends happening worldwide, while focusing on New York’s artistic talent and leadership. The joint goal is to make public art renewable and accessible to more people, while embracing the new techniques and technologies. The collaboration will also result in a technical panel discussion regarding the technology and the visual arts in public spaces. In a rare “behind the scenes” look at the process, SenovvA will host artist demos and technique reviews in SenovvA’s new production design and pre-visualization studio, located in the heart of the DUMBO Arts community.

Desigual Retail Store Installation Project

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Coterie DesigualDesigual (Spanish): It’s not the same.

SenovvA definitely fits that statement. We are unlike any other production company in the industry.

It should come as no surprise that Desigual has chosen to partner with SenovvA not only for all its live event production needs, but for the retail installations in all of its US retail locations. SenovvA has been hired to provide installation services for all audio and video elements in each retail store in the US. This includes multi-speaker audio systems and the requisite hardware for audio playback and distribution, as well as a 6mm LED wall in every location. Keep an eye out for a store near you!

In these video clips, you’ll see SenovvA’s production of the Desigual Booth @ Spring Coterie in NY. The show took place at the Javits Center. SenovvA provided lighting, audio and a 8′H x 20′ W WinVision 1875 LED wall. SenovvA is also lined up to do Magic Fall 2010 and Coterie Fall 2010 with Desigual. Additionally we’ll be producing their first large scale runway show before years end…

Catch Me If You Can: LED Wall on the Fly

Inside Theatre’s December issue features an article about the impressive LED walls SenovvA provided for Seattle’s Fifth Avenue Theater presentation of Catch Me If You Can. Read article.

The Rockwell Group Catch Me If You Can Premiere

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

SEATTLE, WA — Los Angeles based production company SenovvA has partnered with
Tony Award nominated designer and architect David Rockwell to bring new LED
technology to the world premiere of the new musical Catch Me if You Can at Seattle’s
5th Avenue Theatre. The two entities first collaborated on designs for this year’s 81st
Annual Academy Awards.

When designing the scenic elements for Catch Me if You Can, Rockwell decided
that high definition LED screens would most effectively realize his artistic vision.
SennovA, a full-service television, film and event production company, worked with
Rockwell to create new technology of a size and scope which has never before been
seen in a Broadway musical. Several different products, some of which are still in the
manufacturing stage, were tested in order to bring the same high definition quality seen
at the Oscars to Catch Me if You Can. Ultimately, the solution was found with Barco
i6XP 6 mm LED panels and i10 10 mm LED panels. SenovvA is providing 435 panels
of the i6XP and 416 panels of the i10. Associate Projections Designer Bob Bonial and
his creative team have been working in conjunction with Rockwell and SenovvA to
create content for both screens.

In addition to their technical work on Catch Me if You Can, SenovvA is a proud
producing sponsor of the Seattle engagement. This commitment demonstrates SenovvA’s support for the amazing work that is happening in regional theaters across
the country while allowing the California based production solutions company to realize
their goal of producing on Broadway. Similarly, SenovvA will lend their expertise to
Berkely Reperatory’s upcoming world premiere production of Green Day’s
American Idiot
, based on the multi-platinum album of the same name.

Catch Me If You Can is the unbelievable, but true, story of Frank Abagnale, Jr., a
sexy young con artist who successfully impersonated a doctor, lawyer and Pan Am pilot,
all before he was 21. Carl Hanratty, a middle-aged, bored FBI agent, finds new purpose
in life when he is assigned to catch this charming swindler, whose check-forging skills
have netted him more than $2.8 million. The battle of wills intensifies as the two men
become curious about one another and each begins to question the purpose of his own
life. With a score invoking the jazzy, swinging ’60s jet-set culture, the game of cat and
mouse has never been so stylish.

Catch Me if You Can boasts a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Terrence
McNally
, who joins forces with the collaborative team behind the hit musical
Hairspray, including five-time Tony Award-winning director Jack O’Brien, Tony
Award-winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell and the Tony Award-winning
composing team of Marc Shaiman (music & lyrics) and Scott Wittman (lyrics).
Performances begin at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 and
continue through Sunday, August 16, 2009.

About Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theater

Since 1926, the magnificent 5th Avenue Theatre has captivated audiences with music, drama and laughter. In the early days, people eagerly lined up for first-class vaudeville shows, featuring top entertainers. The theatre later transformed itself into a popular movie palace. The 5th fell on hard times in the late 70’s—but fortunately, was saved from a wrecking ball by a visionary group of businesses and community leaders. Following a spectacular $2.6-million renovation, the theatre re-opened in 1980, more beautiful than ever. Today, we proudly produce top-quality musical revivals, premieres of bound-for-Broadway shows, and present touring Broadway musicals. We also host a variety of special events, and offer a number of education and outreach programs to school-age children and adults.
